For sale a lot of Mid Grade Fantastic Four comics. These are all pretty well read and the grades and prices reflect that. The grades are what the books look like in hand, in fact these pictures look better than the books. Also the books are raw, these are the projected cgc grades, they have not been graded yet. These are strict cgc projected grades (yes I know how strict cgc has been lately). Please see my kudos thread for many other satisfied buyers.

Action 258 (ignore 'Tv' writing on the cover, it is on the camera lens! Also, I confirmed with cgc graders that the writing in the coupon on the back cover does not affect grade unless the graders are between grades, then it tilts to the lower grade of the two the book otherwise grades at, but it does not affect the grade by itself. Daredevil 4, is that your estimated grade as is or projected grade after the press? Also, what's your return policy on the raw books?

Returns:

 

standard return policy is this usual rules that everyone uses: no returns on cgc graded books, returns are allowed on raw books obviously returned in same condition as shipped.

 

As always, the most important goal is for buyers to be fully happy with their purchase. My fun and specialty in this hobby is the challenge of finding super high grade books because I appreciate how hard it was for them to survive and how they look amazing. However, I always sell them to those who collect them as I enjoy more the challenge of finding them than keeping them. Please keep in mind the books are pretty much maximized. There would be not much point in trying to buy them and return them hoping I under graded them as getting the high grades is what I specialize in! These books are extremely clean books. Books with more than the tiniest kind of wear I wouldn't even consider for this kind of thread (books under 9.0 I usually just blow out in lots), so I don't expect hardly any returns anyway.

 

Pressing:

 

This pressing assumes you use Matt Nelson, he's the best at the spines, which are the key to cgc grades Ive found in my experience.

 

The Daredevil 8 and Action 320 dont even need a press

 

The ASM 43 wouldnt improve with a press, too much wear to get more than an 8.0.

 

The Daredevil 4 definitely needs a press, with that spine roll I dont know what it would get without a press. Its an 8.0 with a press because of the wear top left corner cgc these days would put the hammer down. It might be an 8.5- 9.0 in a loose grading period.

 

The Action 257 has the feintest ncb wrinkle near the "A" that needs to be pressed out to get the 9.4. Its a magnificent book.

 

The Action 258 doesn't really need a press except I would press it to be on the safe side (top left corner tiniest ncb slight wave would come out, same with back bottom. really sharp corners

 

Adventure 289 probably could use a press to flatten out the area by old supermans' shoulder, but not sure it would matter to get the 9.2. The tanning looks worse in the photos than in hand. The spine is so nice it looks creamy (i.e. perfect flow to my eyes) to me.

 

Showcase 36 doesnt need a press, just has too many spine ticks to get above 9.2 It might actually press to a 9.2 even with today's cgc standards. Its really nice

 

I have discounted everything from gpa to more than account for the cost of pressing and cgc-ing.

I own all the books and have them all in my possession, I had an option to buy the Showcase 36 and was seeing if it would sell, but its apparently not going to sell so I took it off the thread.
