Funny Picture Stories #2 GD (2.0) Asking $300

CR/T pages, taped spine, CF detached.

The Clock story (12/36)

Gerber scarcity index: 8

A very seldom-seen comic, Gerber calls this comic "rare," estimating that only 11 to 20 copies still exist, and recommending "if you find one... grab it really quickly because you will likely never get another chance." The Clock makes an appearance in this early comic.

Detective Picture Stories #5 GD- (1.5) Asking $300 SOLD TO jgallo

The Clock-c/story (4/37); 1st. detective/adventure art by Bob Kane;

Bruce Wayne prototype.

BC detached, taped spine, two added staples.

Gerber scarcity index: 6

The first detective/adventure art by Bob Kane appeared in this issue, and Kane's seven-page story concerns the heir to a millionaire fortune, a fellow who has a bit of Bruce Wayne in him! This was the last issue of the first detective comic series. It's part color, part black and white. In addition to the Bob Kane connection, there's another DC tie -- this series' publisher, the Comics Magazine Company, was started by two gents who left the company now known as DC. The cover star is the Clock, who appeared in Quality comics in later years.

Is the interior back cover blank?

Yes

I checked with a fellow Boardie who has a copy of this rare book, and he confirms that the inside cover is indeed blank.

I can't recall another regular-sized comic that features a blank inside cover.

Fantastic copy, btw.
