Does anyone have much experience with 'THE' House of Comics?

So their site is pretty great and they offer a lot at good prices. I just placed my first order through them and I was really excited. I ordered a IH 181 at a good price. I should have known it was too good to be true. I received a cobbled together IH 181 reprint that doesnt match the online picts. The cover looks like it was from the 1985 reprint - though it was glossy, it had the telltale black box around it, the back cover was from some silver age comic. The whole thing was stapled together. It was a bit of a mess.

Now in fairness, I wrote Thomas Neeley and haven't heard back yet so I'm hoping it was just a shipping error. He also included a GSX1 German reprint - I think because I was telling him I just picked up an orig GSX1.

I'm not criticising them at this point, just curious to hear other's experiences.

I'm sad that someone got scammed, but happy that I got to relive some of the fun of the original thread(s).

Good luck, and don't be afraid to get law enforcement involved!

Can we see pictures of FrankenHulk 181?

Yeah, I'd love to see pictures of what he sent. :wishluck:

I'd be afraid to touch it without getting a hepatitis vaccination first.

ARGGGG. I really try to be good to my word, grade correctly, and make sure that any transaction that I have is solid, timely, and a representation of myself. WTF. I have been burned so many times. I usually do a good job of looking into dealers but I often deal with feebay too. I've been burned there a butt load but it comes with the territory.

I feel sick. I was just hit with a $1,600 deduction for travel and now the x$00s of dollars with this. This was a 2k day. I'm so sick of scumbags trying to screw people over. It makes me want to be underhanded just to stay on top of the oil slick. I told him that this was from the reprint and cobbled together. I imagine it wasn't too hard for him to figure it out.
