SDCC 2013

First off, I want to thank dscott, Jwalker1228, and BeerThirty. Without them I probably wouldn't be able to get these books signed, or at least witnessed for CGC. It was also great meeting JJ, Mr Mylar, Rich Henn, starpc, and probably a ton of other people I'm leaving out.

Let's start with the celebrities:

2 copies of the Aquaman 12 variant signed by the Robot Chicken creators and writers: Seth Green, Matthew Senreich, Zeb Wells, Tom Root, and Geoff Johns

Nice haul guys!

@ Tanner - Your books are awesome! Thanks again for hooking me up with Quesada & with Lee/Snyder. I really appreciate the help! & I still can't believe Eva Green looks so thin....

Had my TMNT 1 SDCC book signed by 9 persons when my wife won tickets for the TMNT cartoon signing. I can't wait to get it. I took a picture of it after it was signed and carted away by Desert Wind Comics. I made 1 book SS which I plan to sell and keeping a raw copy signed as well with the 9 persons all to myself. Very happy. I also was able to have Kevin Eastman sign the book the same day. 1 creator and 8 voices from the show.

:)

Very cool! I have one of these that was put together from last year's signing. There were 8 signatures last year. One of them was Ciro Nieli, one of the executive producers and not a voice actor. Did they add another this year or are you counting Nieli as a voice actor? Just wanting to know exactly how jealous to be and there are a couple characters that can definitely be added.

Here's mine, currently at CGC for additional sigs.

Jason Biggs - Leonardo

Sean Astin - Raphael

Greg Cipes - Michelangelo

Rob Paulsen - Donatello

Mae Whitman - April O'Neil

Hoon Lee - Splinter

Kevin Michael Richardson - Shredder

Ciro Nieli - Executive Producer

Kevin Eastman

Peter Laird

The executive producer was there - Ciro. I really liked Sean Astin, very genuine and Greg Cipes was playing w/ my daughter for a bit. Very classy acts. I just need to find Peter Laird now. I love the silver ink. They signed in black and DWC didn't bring any pens when they came over when I told them to bring one. I can live.

I met Sean Astin a few years back at Dragon Con. Like you said, he seems like a great guy!

What books did you take to the signing?

I had the SDCC TMNT Exclusive that was sold for $4, except MILE HIGH was trying to sell them for $10. The book with the 4 turtles leaping in the air and you can see the SDCC logo behind the scenes. I'll post the pre-CGC book Thurs w/ the sigs. I brought 2 of those books, the exclusive Shredder I bought, and they signed the poster they had at the table. We were told to bring just 1 item per person and we would get the poster as well. My wife and I both had 2 tix so we had 4 items signed total.

Still tired from the show, but I had a great time. Met a few boardies (hybridwrester, spawnfiend, joel).

Special thanks to Mike (Mr. Mylar) for help with this beauty: Superman Unchained Retailer Roadshow 3D Lenticular Variant 5x signed by Jim Lee, Scott Williams, Alex Sinclair, Scott Snyder and Dustin Nguyen. :cloud9:

Other things I got from the show

- Sketch Covers

- Celebrity Signings

I did spend most of my time trying to get a sketchbook signed by artists for my son's 3rd birthday (which was just yesterday). When I explained what I was trying to do (read: yes, please personlize it!) and showed them a pic of my son dressed as Thor to show he loves superheroes, all obliged and many went above and beyond a simple birthday greeting.

Sure, it'll be years before he truly appreciates it but surprisingly his favorite right now is Art Adams' dinosaur! I do want to thank all the artists who took the time and went out of their way to give my son a unique and special gift!

This was my first time attending. I was very happy with the entire trip.

I got to meet a lot of you for the first time.

I did have a short list of 'top priority' exclusives and I got all the ones I wanted. I even managed to grab some Hasbro stuff for a few others here.

My highlights were meeting and talking with Matt Hawkins, Frank Barberie, Jim Lee, Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, Nick Dragotta, Nick Pitarra and many more.

I did get a Jim Lee sketch which is something I have been after for many years. I also got my hands on the Five Ghosts limited set!

I also got a few quick sketches from many of the other artists I met. Mostly Batman sketches. I wasn't expecting to get any so I had to resort to backer boards in most cases. Ron Lim did a free quick sketch on a JL blank in exchange for the Guardians Promo Poster I had in my hand. He was really excited to see the poster and was shocked when I told him he could keep it.

Some random pics of the stuff.

The Bat'fat'man sketch by Pitarra is too funny and he gave me his sketching pen to keep and try out. Great dude!

I'm going to try and attend again next year. I could have been there for 15 days and would have still not seen everything.

Here it is: I submitted 1 to CGC and kept the RAW signed as well for my daughter to be framed w/ SDCC pics:
