The umpire is calling strikes..................

5,775 posts in this topic

I remember my first and only strike like it was only yesterday :luhv:

I posted a picture of a creamy pile of poo that was beyond disgusting :sick:

In my defense, it was in a thread asking for opinions on Showcase New England and I still think it was the best way to express how I felt about them :sumo:

Of course the strike was deserved so I had a one week vacation. :sorry:

I got mine for "failure to promote constructive discourse". :acclaim:

So I take that as CGC made you the official facilitator of constructive discourse and you failed to live up to the responsibilities of your role. Are you kidding?

Might as well throw a bowling ball at the user list because everyone deserves a strike for failing to promote constructive discourse.

And my point becomes clearer.................

:whistle:

Oh... it does... but at the end of the day we play in this sandbox at someone else's whim. We are free to leave at any point that we find the place disagreeable. We are owed nothing. I just realized I never wrote you back. I apologize.

+1, these boards are not here to serve us. CGC uses them to promote their product and services. If they see stuff they don't like, I would expect them to tae action.

Link to what happened? I'd like to see what mods are considering thread derailment

Check out basically every sales thread he posts in. If he's not selling or buying, he's derailing.

^^

He rarely has anything nice to say and is mostly condescending.

That describes the majority of posters with over 5000 posts, so clearly that is not a reason for a strike.

Hey Swick, add this to the n00b guide, "All 5,000+ posters are dbags"

what about folks that have more than 10K?

10k= Dbag silver

30k= Dbag gold

50k= Dbag platinum

100k+ = King of all Dbags

Hope I don't turn into a Dbag whenever I get to 5000 posts. lol

Hey now! :baiting:

What's up Dave? I like you even if the chart says your a gold card holder. :foryou:lol

:luhv: I'm such a Gold standard Dbag. :hi:

You know, I hate to say it, but Tranny's right. We are not...especially those of us who have ever bought, sold, or submitted a slabbed coin/book..."owed nothing." We are supporting the Certified Collectibles Group, and part of that pays for this: it is advertising. Every single time a person googles something and discovers this board because of something someone else posted...and thereby becomes interested in slabs....that advertising has paid off. And who is responsible for the content of this board?

We are.

The people who run the Certified Collectibles Group...and the IT/moderation that they contract out to...account for, perhaps, 1/100,000th of the posts on this board. Who is responsible for the rest?

We are.

"If you build it, they will come."

They built it. We came. This board is a tremendous repository of experience, knowledge, and information on nearly every possible facet of the coin and comic book industries, all at the fingertips of anyone with a good search engine. Who is responsible for that?

We are.

Don't tell me that the Certified Collectibles Group doesn't owe anyone anything,. At the very least, they owe the people who have contributed a thank you for helping make these boards such a wonderful advertisement for their products.

I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars on submissions, and why?

Because of this board.

I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars on Sig Series books, and why?

Because of this board.

And I'm teeny tiny small fry. There are many more...and much bigger...fish than me out there. And many, many of us gave NGC/CGC more business...and even business in the first place....because of this board.

No problem on not contacting me, I figured you were busy, or didn't like me. Or both. ;)

Mine was for "Overly frisky posting."

I'm not sure what "frisky" means around here, but ever since that strike, I figure I'd better keep both hands on my keyboard.

I got a wrist-slap for talking about hermaphrodite porn.

I win for best reason, as far as W-Ss go.

I bet after issuing yours, and for that reason, they wished they'd come up with a term other than "wrist-slap" for it.

Seriously? Overly frisky posting?

Frisky means "playful and energetic".

You are one of the participants on the boards that always keeps it light and doesn't get into all the drama and/or arguing. It's hard to imagine you getting a strike.

I got a couple wrist slaps and strikes for whatever - it was never explained and I don't remember. The best description might be drinking and posting.

Drinking is supposed to make one mellow. Of course drinking enough adds stupid.

So seriously, you got slaps/strikes and no explanation why?
