PGM Wolverine #10

37 posts in this topic

This book is flat and clean. The spine and staples are tight. The interior pages are white and the book is complete with no hidden defects. As always your input and comments are greatly appreciated. Links to large scans are below the smaller images. It is the same book - just different back ground material. Thanks to vaillant for the help with the "smaller scans" and "links"

Wow, these are good scans! ;)

I have never crossed 9.8/9.9 and 10 Mint copies (professionally graded, that is) but I turst my eyes when I see a pretty much flawless book, and this is definitely one! (thumbs u

I remember when this came out: I started collecting Wolverine with issue #1 but wasn’t crazy about the series, although it was very well done and I think I stopped precisely after that. (I also think I gave #1-12 as a gift to someone back then or so). :)

lol You taught me well! (Or at least gave me some good pointers)

Thanks for the feed back! I've been posting some higher grade copies of books but I also have some lower grade that I will be posting too! Just scanning them all in first and learning the ropes on the image links! :blahblah:

Cheers! ;)

Isn’t this issue where it’s implied in some way Wolverine is much older than previously stated and also that Sabretooth is even older (and possibly they are relatives?) – just going by memory. :)

I'm getting so old... :sorry:

my memory is fading... :insane:

and I can't even remember reading the book? :whatev:

But I think you are correct! hm

You're not going to ask me to pull the book out and read it again are you??? lol

Under the price box, in the white, halfway to the blue area is what looks like a pretty substantial spine tick.

So I'd say 9.6 tops

Good eye! The scanner light definitely high lighted it and makes it more noticeable but it most definitely not substantial. lol Thanks for the input

So it’s just a 9.6? :taptaptap:

Very disappointed…

lol

:sorry:

But I don't know if that even counts as a "spine tick"?....more a "spine tap" lol

Back to serious mode: "tick" is usually the term which defines a softer, less marked and non-color breaking spine crease, while "crease" is more appropriate when it’s highly visible, and possibly color-breaking.

Very true but in this case there is no visible crease. That is why I am going to suggest that this type of tick now be termed a "spine tap". My request will be sent to Overstreet and to CGC first thing Monday morning. :sumo:

I just looked at a bunch of my slabbed 9.8's and they appear to have some very similar "spine taps" :o

"Tick" is just fine: it usually defines a "soft crease", but of course english is not my language.

And yes, CGC allows a single spine "tick" in 9.8s, so I still believe your #10 would grade high. ;)

Your English is just fine, believe you me (thumbs u

I was just thinking that a tick is usually a soft stress and it is fairly apparent to the naked eye (of course no chance of a colour break) But that was why I thought "spine tap" was even more subtle, a very, very soft stress - not visible to the naked eye - but these pesky scanners don't hide them! :pullhair:

I mean my mastery on the use of many words leaves a lot to be desired – heck, I often can’t find the right word in italian, go figure in english!

(Incidentally this sentence came out very nice! ).

:signfunny:

I love how you speak in English! and I think you have a great command of the language! :)
