:headbang: Round 1 is over. The daunting task of voting for 36 books is behind us. Thank God, in round 2, we are only voting against 30 covers. (thumbs u

In the nomination thread, I had asked people to nominate their favorite Russ Heath comic covers. I've taken every one of those covers and included them here in this post. The poll is at the bottom of this post. The goal is to determine the greatest Heath cover of all time. You decide what makes a cover "great". To quickly reduce this to the best of the best covers, we will be voting off our 30 least favorite covers from the list provided. There were a total of 116 covers to start from.

Remember, we are voting for the ones that we do not like, Monstro. That is, our "least favorite", as I mentioned before.

These rounds will last 48 hours each. We'll vote off 36 in round 1, 30 in round 2, 25 in round 3, 10 in round 4, 5 in round 5, 5 in round 6, and then pluck off one per round until we have our champion.

Even if you're not a Russ Heath fan (yeah right), you can still vote away some covers that you're less keen of. (thumbs u I really hope everyone can participate. :wishluck:

Chit chat is welcomed and encouraged, so please express your thoughts as the rounds progress.

I know this is a lot of books to look at and vote off, so I thank you in advance for your participation.

Tip: Some folks have two windows open when voting, one to look at the pretty pictures and one to click the checkboxes on the poll. If you hover your mouse over the pictures, you'll be able to see the name of the book.

Thanks everyone, now to the books.....

Russell Heath, Jr.[1] (born September 29, 1926)[2] is an American artist best known for his comic book work — particularly his DC Comics war stories for several decades and his 1960s art for Playboy magazine's Little Annie Fanny featurettes — and for his commercial art, two pieces of which, depicting Roman and Revolutionary War battle scenes for toy soldier sets, became familiar bits of Americana after gracing the back covers of countless comic books from the early 1960s to early 1970s.

Heath drawings of fighter jets in DC Comics' All American Men of War #89 (Feb. 1962), were used by pop artist Roy Lichtenstein in his oil painting Blam and Brattata.

Heath was inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2009.
