I'd shoot for a high grade Headline #8, Marvel Mystery Comics #63 or #36.

[font:Times New Roman]Hey, I'm with West! If I had that much juice free and clear for a DC comic I'd probably switch gears and buy something else I really wanted.[/font] (thumbs u

High grade Superman 14 doesn't get any better as a symbol of America or an iconic cover of a classic superhero the true roots of fandom!

hm I might have something cool you'll want to see when it gets back.

Just for fun, if anybody feels like playing.

You have $10,000 to spend on Golden Age DC books...

You can buy as little as 1 book and as many as 20 books based on most recent GPA or reasonable estimate (if you don't have GPA).

Which book(s) do you buy? And why?

First I'd buy the two known DC Okajima camp books

Flash Comics #54 CGC 9.0 ($1000)

Sensation Comics 35 CGC 9.0 ($1000)

then the rest would go into the best Sensation Comics #1 I could find... could maybe swing a 6.0

Superman 4 and 53, Action 23, 52 and 63, More Fun 71, Adventure 79, All Star 33, All-American 61, Batman 5, 11 and 12, Detective 58, 66 and 69, Flash 21, Green Lantern 10, Wonder Woman 7, World Finest 7, 8 and 9, Star Spangled 7, Big All American and Worlds Fair 1940. Mid-grade would be OK and fill in with lower grades when necessary. I only have a few of those books and read many of them but would mostly buy due to covers and villain appearance.

I would most likely get either one of these two books depending on availability, grade, and overall look of the book itself. Both copies would be un-restored examples.

All-Star Comics #8: Grade 3.5-4.0 ($9,000 - $10,000)

OR

More Fun Comics #73: Grade 6.0 ($10,000)

Here is Ed Lahmann's recommendation from 1963. He also recommends that you try for Comic Cavalcade 1-5 if you can't find a Big All American...

I would be willing to recommend going all the way to CC 9 and 12 as well.
