ALEX ROSS ON THE COMIC ZONE!

Over the last two months the Comic Zone has been star studded. In August alone Vincent welcomed Thomas Jane (Star of The Punisher), Frank Cho (Liberty Meadows), Sean Chen (X-Men), Marshall Rogers (Batman), Ayers (Sgt. Fury, Ghost Rider), Arthur Adams (Long Shot, Action Comics), Bob Hall (Charlton artist), Joe Jusko (Vampirella painter), Greg John & Rich Bisso (Spider-Man II video game designers) and Euan Kerr (editor of Beano). September was equally exciting with guests like Norm Breyfogle (Batman), Jim Shooter (Marvel Editor-in –Chief/Valiant founder), Ron Garney (Captain America, JLA), Howard Porter (JLA, Flash) and Mark Haspel (CGC Senior Grader). October is off to a great start as Jae Lee (Inhumans, Thing/Hulk) and George Perez (Avengers, Teen Titans, JLA/Avengers) joined the Comic Zone!

Today, Monday, October 18th, 3:00 PM, EST Vincent Welcomes Super Star Painter Alex Ross! (Audio archives posted after the show)

Great. Not even in the right section.

My wife tried to buy a book from Metropolis recently for me as an anniversary present. It was a nightmare. Needless to say, she didn't end up getting the book (apparently it was on the site, but actually owned by someone else, who had sold it in the meantime but had not let Metropolis know). And the problem was that she put the order in for the book, never heard from Metropolis for several days, then on the actual day of our anniversary someone contacted her to tell her that the owner finally got back to them and no longer had the book. Clearly, she was pretty upset because she told them she needed to know urgently. And she won't be buying anything from them in the future.

But Comiclink got a nice piece of business from her instead. And I am getting an awesome comic. Thanks for the good customer service, Josh!!

The book you are refering to was sold by me. Co-owning books sometimes results in this type of thing happening and I'm sorry that I did not notify Metropolis of the sale sooner. Punishing Metropolis for this is not really the answer, if you want to get upset than you probably should not be doing any business with me.

Hi Bob, sure, I'll be happy to redirect my wife's frustration at you.... You have been warned. stooges.gif

In this particular instance I think she was unhappy that Metropolis didn't get back to her until the absolute last minute, the day of our anniversary. After putting in the order and not hearing anything to the contrary from them for a number of days she was under the impression that the sale had gone through. She had used photoshop to create a custom card of the comic cover with a bunch of text edited over the images, which she had to scrap at the last minute because they called and said the book wasn't available. She also had made a cool "coupon" redeemable for that book. Had they let her know earlier that there was a problem with the book, she wouldn't have been so upset. She spent the rest of the day scrambling to get another book ordered and make up a different card and "coupon" based on the cover of that book. The happy ending is that she did so successfully, and we had a very happy anniversary, and needless to say I'm quite pleased with the book that she DID manage to purchase.

And yes, you should have let them know you sold the book. But if they are going to rely on third party consignment then they need to be able to provide better response time when there's a problem.

As far as punishing Metropolis, CGC should punish them for repeatedly breaking the rules on these boards by posting the type of spam that they posted above (which is also posted in the Gold and Bronze sections too).

She's a keeper, lemme tell ya. I'll get the image she made for the card and post it. I was blown away that she went to all the work she did. Really touched me. She could have just bought a comic and put it in a box. The work she went to in order to make this card from the cover and the coupon and stuff was awesome. Made me feel like a million bucks.

By the way Bob, the book she tried to buy was the TTA 22 in CGC 9.0. Which they came back and said they don't have it and can't get it because the seller already sold it.

So it's ODD that it is listed in the list above...... foreheadslap.gif

So from what I can see, there are 2 options:

1. Metropolis is posting spam making it sound like they have sent all these books to CGC themselves and they have just come in, when in reality the books are actually (some of them anyway) owned by 3rd parties who may or may not actually have them anymore. Hmm. This seems less than honest.

2. They just happened to get in a DIFFERENT CGC 9.0 TTA 22 since Friday. Which if they did, I would think maybe they would have called to let us know.

I already had gotten an email from them stating their frustration with me not showing up with the book or letting them know about it's sale, however these are "jointly-owned" not third party consignment. I am actually allowed to have some of these books you know.

Again, I am very sorry about this happening.

Bob, read my email. I certainly didn't imply that you are not "actually allowed to have some of these books". Your response puzzles me.

Don't you think that if Metropolis knew on Oct 15 that the book was not available from you, that they should not have posted it on this list above, which was posted today? In my eyes, they are the ones screwing up, not you.

There are books on their site and also on mine. These are jointly owned. There is nothing misleading about this. I could have experienced the same thing as Metropolis did if I emailed them about the availability of the book. We rely on emailing each other. As far as the book showing up in their availability I just paid them for the book, therefore it will still show up in their system until it gets marked as sold

Rhino-

Sorry for the error on our part. The last thing we would ever want to do is screw up an anniversary gift. I won' t bother letting you know why this happened-simply put it shouldn't have happened. Please express to your wife that I am very sorry for the mistake made by my company. If she should ever decided to give us a second chance she should ask for me personally and I will make sure her order is taken care of properly.

The reason the book made it onto the list today is because Bob just paid me on the sale and until I am paid it remains in my inventory. The book is no longer available.

As for my posting this in several areas I genuinely thought since the list included all different types of books that it was appropriate to put it in different places. You'll note I did not post this in the general are and in the future I will only post in the market place.

Once again my apologies,

Vincent Zurzolo

Vince,

This issue has been brought up every time you do this. I'm going to guess, oh, about 15 times (five times in three forums, I'm being generous with this guess BTW). The mods have gone as far as to move and/or delete your spam threads in the past and members here have pointed it out every time you do it. The fact that you claim ignorance is even more frustrating because if it's true (and it's not) then not only are you spamming the boards, you're also ignoring the threads after you do it.

If nothingelse, the above is a nice reply. Nice job. It does not sound like you are trying to mislead anyone. thumbsup2.gif
