NY COMIC BOOK MARKETPLACE BRINGS COMICS, ZOMBIES, COSTUMES, GAMES, AND MORE TO HOTEL NEW YORKER, SAT. MARCH 1

For the fourth year in a row Mike Carbonaro brings forth the most exciting one-day comic/sci-fi/fantasy/horror/pop culture convention in New York! The NEW YORK COMIC BOOK MARKETPLACE returns, bringing celebrities, dealers, artists, gaming, programming, zombies, and costumes to the Hotel New Yorker on March 1st, 2014!

Carbonaro has been holding conventions in NYC for nearly 20 years, through thick and thin, boom and bust, bringing top celebrities, comics creators, and comic and collectible dealers to the fans, and this year will be no exception. Already such comic book legends as Neal Adam, Jim Steranko, Arthur Suydam, and Herb Trimpe are booked to appear.

New York City has long been a hotbed of comics creativity. Independent and small-press comics creators and publishers will be well represented. This is a great opportunity for people to see what work is being done beyond the confines of the big companies and perhaps discover a new star on the rise.

Dozens of dealers are booked who will be selling items both rare and valuable and new and exciting, and offering amazing deals on comics, cards, posters, art, toys, videos, t-shirts, games, and all other manner of collectibles and merchandise.

Do you have a collection gathering dust in your attic, basement, or storage space? There will be a spectacular buying event at this convention. Come get your collection appraised and get a cash offer on the spot! Who needs to sell gold when you've got comics and cards?

NYCBM always seeks to serve the latest trends in NYC geekdom, and with the ever-growing popularity of the living dead, Zombie-Con comes to NYCBM. In that vein (sorry), Norman Reedus of the hit series “Walking Dead” is the first of many anticipated celebrities to confirm their appearance. The makers of the “Zombie Hunters: City of the Dead” webseries will also be presenting their latest episode.

Gamers will find a home at this convention, with Magic the Gathering and other game tournaments with valuable prizes.

And what is a convention without costumes? Captain Zorkh's Costume Contest, generally acknowledged to be the most fun costume contest on the East Coast, will return, granting cosplayers and costume enthusiasts the opportunity to strut their stuff and win more prizes.

This is going be a spectacular day! There will be announcements of ever-increasing amazement in the coming weeks and months, so check in at http://www.nycbm.com for updates and to buy tickets.

Tickets are only $15 online. You spend just as much on a 2hr movie.

Difference is there are some comic peeps attending. Sales for comics, toys and DVDs galore. Its basically what a comic convention was during the 70s. Don't expect SDCC or NYCC as that's a setup for disappointment. They're doing it at a new location which, hopefully, is better than the sad looking Penn Plaza Hotel.

Was disappointed last year - this will be the make or.break year. After last year's issues George Perez can do no wrong ever to anyone ever in my eyes. The show on the other hand...

Make or break year.

Might be worth the price of admission just to see what Mike Carbonaro wears. He's such an interesting guy to say the least.

If I was closer, I'd drop by. Gotta settle for a small local show instead.

Sadly couldn't make it :(

But saw Mike last week wearing a jacket with Todd mcFarlanes autograph on it!
