the last time i bought a comic from a lcs was back in 1998... that was a mistake... i bought a star wars #1 (very fine) for about $30... stupid movie hype...how was i supposed to know that phantom menace would suck so bad...

Let's face it.... we all get fooled or ripped off at some point. I spent $90 of hard-earned money (I think I just started college or was in HS at the time) back in about 1989-1990 on a G+/VG- copy of Fantastic Four #4, my personal holy grail, only to find out years later that it had significant amateur color touch. I had no clue what I was looking at back then. I'm pissed that the book is in this condition, but I realize that I could probably flip it, make more than I paid, put in a little more money and get another Good copy if I wanted to. No big deal... my victories outweigh my defeats.
