Apology

Hey George (GSims),

What exactly are you accusing me of? I'm asking you point blank..right here in this thread.

With your long extensive post...are you accusing me of shilling? Are you accusing me of GPA manipulation?

Cut through the bull and state your accusation!

I stated I never mentioned it before due to lack of anything conclusive. I just posted some things that I thought looked fishy. There were some things that were off to me about it. Some other books at the time that had sold on ebay were no longer on the site. The books that were still listed had all sold at high prices compared to current gpa.

Honestly I have no idea what happened there. I just laid out some facts about books that had sold at highs and were still available.

If there's a good explanation like you didn't update your site just say so.

Popcorn aside, those are some serious accusations to throw around. Not sure how Brock's name is getting dragged into this debacle. (shrug)

If we are emulating a Quaker prayer service and airing grievances, I have a few people I'd like to complain about.

I believe Buzzetta stated that there are other sellers on eBay who have also have sites that aren't as quick to update their sites if books sell on eBay (and vice versa).

One of the flaws of our site is that when a book sells on eBay (and yes, sometimes we do achieve strong prices), its not immediately removed from our site. Honestly, that type of programming would cost a lot more than it cost to develop our entire site. So yes, there are times when I cannot immediately update my site to remove a book. There are also other times when I forget....

As far as the X-Men 4, I keep very good records of our sales and the Oct 2013 sale was a NPB. In fact, if you look at GPA for 5.0s in 2013, you won't see a sale! And why is that? B/c I actually take the time to email George and alert him of NPB sales and they're removed from GPA. The sale in Jan of this year is legit.

The FF 1 was a consignment book. It didn't sell and was removed on both the site/eBay.

The next two accusation books actually are quite funny and I ask you a simple question: have you ever had two books in the same grade?

For a while I had two ASM 121's in 9.2 and two GSX 1's in 8.5. Both ASM 121's sold and one GSX 1 sold. And yes, I'll have them both listed on our site and eBay at the same time, usually for the same price. So saying I've sold a book on on eBay and yet it still remains on our site...it doesn't mean its the same book.

The fact that you suspect something yet have no hard evidence, yet post it anyways, is very insulting and flat out wrong.

I admit I made a mistake with the whole Hulk 340. That issue was put to bed yet a few select people (Bronze Age) can't let it go. That's fine...rehash old mess.

And to address the ASM 238 w/the missing tattooz, I simply posted a question. For the record, I haven't even thought about or even attempted to marry a tattooz from another book and will not be doing that. The particular book in question isn't even for sale.....

So think and post what you want. Want to accuse me of some serious accusations, then I'd suggest you find better evidence. Oh wait..that's not possible b/c there isn't any.

If there was even an apology deserved, it would be now.

At the time I checked the label #s and they were the same. The books were also available weeks after the auctions ended, it wasn't right after. That's why it was suspicious to me.

Either way. I will delete my initial post as Mike NYC is right and it's not something I want to deal with.

BTW, to clarify: I also think Brock has a not-so-great character, and he may have been offensive to people (often unwillingly), but one thing is one person's character, which you cannot change by mere willpower in a single day, and another is his effective honesty. You can’t measure the latter with precision in any given case, and if you could, it would still be a form of judgement on the person.

If one limits himself to criticize what he deems bad, you would be correct. It’s what happens beyond that which is not good. :)

Are we talking about the same guy who was contemplating taking the tatooz from an FF #252 to replace the missing ones from an ASM #238?

People here always crow about their honesty and integrity, but actions speak louder than words.

Also he listed a copy of Hulk #340 on eBay. The comic was a 9.6, he mistakenly listed it as a 9.8 in the header. But the picture and write up were clear it was a 9.6 Someone bought it then after winning asked him to cancel the auction because they thought it was a 9.8. He got his panties in a bunch and was attempting force the buyer to still buy it. They he began a thread in CG explaining this, gave the eBay users name so we all could block this person who made a mistake. Stated that he was blocking them and was thinking about doing a NPB thing on eBay. The comic sold for way over GPA for a 9.6 and he appeared to want to capitalize on the buyers mistake.

So for anyone who cares that appears to be very dishonest. You could have one million transactions with said seller, it is what it is.

So true....facts that's can't be disputed.

Since it is being discussed here is a pm exchange I had with someone back in January.

I never brought it up, because I didn't think there was really enough evidence, but read and judge for yourself.

He either had a lot of bad luck with non paying bidders (which I'm guessing he would have started a thread about), was too lazy to update his site, or he was trying to manipulate gpa sales for books he owned.

Most books I'm sure have actually sold by now so finding them on his site probably won't work but they were active at some point.

This Fantastic Four #1 popped up on my saved searches -

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fantastic-Four-1-CGC-4-5-OW-W-PAGE-Universal-First-appear-FF-Stan-Lee-sig-L-K-/221350771485?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276

I noticed it was Columbia Comics. Curious to see what he sells on Ebay I searched his closed items and noticed a few were sold at surprisingly strong prices. I then looked at his site and noticed he still had some listed.

Is he trying to artificially inflate GPA?

Same X-Men 4 sold for $699.99 twice on Ebay -

http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-Men-4-CGC-5-0-W-PAGES-Universal-First-Quicksilver-Scarlet-Witch-Avengers-2-/321287360752?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item4ace3810f0

and here

http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-Men-4-CGC-5-0-W-PAGES-Universal-First-Quicksilver-Scarlet-Witch-Avengers-2-/321222162649?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item4aca5538d9

but he still has it for sale on his site for $625 -

http://www.columbiacomics.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=49_51&products_id=182&zenid=7abc00aeeb2bbd55d7061ee6d91ad3a7

ASM #121 9.2 sold for $999.99

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Spider-man-121-CGC-9-2-White-Pages-Universal-Death-of-Gwen-Stacy-L-K-/321264213694?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item4accd6debe

And he still has it for sale on his site for $750 -

http://www.columbiacomics.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=49_52&products_id=23

GSX #1 8.5 sold for $1099.99 here -

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Giant-Size-X-men-1-CGC-8-5-OW-W-PAGE-Universal-First-Storm-Nightcrawler-Movie-/221293559612?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item33861fbf3c

And still listed for $925 here -

http://www.columbiacomics.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=49_52&products_id=21

The TOD10 7.5 is another example.

Cliffnotes, PM is fine BTW.

Let's just leave it for good ole times sake...
