Just curious - Grading Examples

3 posts in this topic

Wow, some really harsh grading! Just curious if anyone had examples of a 9.4, 9.6, 9.8 and 10... and could articulate the different between them.

What does a book have to look like to get a 10? I suspect there may be a bribe involved...

I joke... I joke.

My opinions....

a 9.2 is the standard - maybe 1 or 2 noticeable flaws or slightly more just barely noticeable flaws

a 9.4 usually has less noticeable flaws than a 9.2

a 9.6 is usually compared to a 9.8 - and if something aint quite good enough for 9.8, then it's a 9.6.

A 9.8 is the gold standard - 1 barely noticeable flaw usually

9.9 would be perfect as well as 10.

Usually lesser known material gets these perfect designations. Mainly because CGC is aware of the crazy prices people pay for the upper rated stuff and only hand them out with utmost care.
