nmtg9
Presume they charge extra for the second slab?
Neeidea
They seem to generally reserve NG for single pages and the like so I guess this cost the standard modern grading fee (although it wasn't actually graded).

RockMyAmadeus
$474 is a very strong price. These were $100 books 10 years ago.
Count Zero
......did it seriously just sell for $474? What's surprising here? I saw this 9.8 Gold slabbed copy go for $1500... I thought that was a strong price. This raw 9.4ish one for $500 though... I was expecting it to sell for more
Count Zero
Apples and oranges I guess... A 9.8 slabbed copy VS a 9.4 raw copy isn't a good basis for comparison
Neeidea
Within the last couple of years good copies in NM or better usually sell raw for over $500, occasionally over $600; would say this one was definitely cheap and possibly a good buy (if it is a 9.6 of course )

Count Zero
interesting... This is good to know, because I am still trying to join the gold club... I thought $474 was a great price... But $300! I would love to join the club for $300!!!
Count Zero
When did sales for the gold edition peak... how much were they going for raw VS slabbed?
kapzilla
Well I just confirmed that CGC will slab the certificate. I subbed mine at c2e2 and they told me that they would have to look into it and I just got a response that they are going to slab the cert separate, with an additional fee of course. I just had to email them the ebay listing that showed the certificate in a CGC case.
Count Zero
......did it seriously just sell for $474? And.... Count Zero
Sooo... Looks like the seller backed out of original transaction with the buyer can't tell for certain... Now relisted it with a reserve... It didn't make the reserve... Looks like it topped out at $456 this time around...
kapzilla
Yeah the first time there was a reserve on it as well. Almost every time I see an auction with a reserve, on any book, bidding is usually more infrequent and doesn't sell for as much as auctions with no reserve
Count Zero
I have a creeping suspicion that the reserve on this book is silly.... I didn't notice a reserve on it the first go around...
