Same here, I enjoyed the mini and the first 30-40 issues.

Issues #40-60 is roughly the Byrne run and although the art+stories are pretty

good, the ret-conning he is doing is beyond belief and I hated most of them...

From #60 onwards the stuff becomes very bland

I agree a lot of that book wasn't that great, but like many of Byrne's stuff after x-men, it was pretty good for the 1st 12 issues or so.- BUT. I stil lthink the Thing would be a great solo character.

I got into collection back in the mid 70's so I miss books from that era.

For what it's worth I like some of the defunct Atlas/Seaboard titles:

Wulf

Iron Jaw

Destructor

Planet of Vampires

etc.

Arak son of thunder, sword & sorcey series from dc was stopped around issue 50, it would be good for dc to relaunched the follow-up so that we would know whether if valda and Arak would come together, but of course with Roy Thomas as the writer.

Dagnabbt - you say this is more a General discussion and then you ask us to ignore the first 59 years of comics and focus on the the next 46 years? Grrrrr....

 

I want a return of Mister Mystery, Tales From The Crypt, Vault Of Horror, Haunt Of Fear, Avon 1-shots, Menace, Witchcraft, Voodoo, Witches Tales, The Thing (NO, not Ben Grimm you knucklehead) and any number of others.
