However opening the package quickly in a warm house can lead to some moisture condensation. Leaving the package for a few hours to slowly reach room temperature would elevate that.

 

This is exactly what I do. I usually bring the package inside. Wait a few hours. Then open the package. I figure if I have already waited a few days/weeks to get my books, what is another 4 or 5 hours gonna kill me to wait?

 

BTW, I think you meant "alleviate" as opposed to "elevate". If not, then I'm screwed!
