You guys are really suggesting additional work for me? :D

 

I know it sounds so easy with these suggestions. Just do this or that. :blahblah:

 

But this is really the easiest way for me to do it. I don't have to update this club or other clubs. I don't even have a Hulk #1! :D

 

I did this at the request of a few. It's eaaiest for everyone if the list is on the first page and easiest for me to update. Why is there so much concern with the way I'm currently doing it? (shrug)

If you can no longer edit the 1st post after 12 months, do you have to re-do every thread every year?

 

In any event, by retiring the old threads you lose all the history, discussion, and the excitement/sharing and sense of community of the thread and all you end up with is a list...and the reality is most folks aren't going to ask to be removed from the list when/if they sell a book, esp dealers.

 

When I saw the FF 5 thread I thought it was pretty weird there wasn't one until I realized...there was one.

We've had this same discussion already. There is no history, discussion and excitement/sharing and sense of community lost! It just continues on in another location. I also LINK to the old clubs in the first post of every single club I reboot. There's nothing lost! :frustrated:

I just PM'ed Arch this idea. I don't know if it's possible, but it's a way to minimize the number of Club threads and consolidate the history of the previous threads into one.

 

Maybe we merge the last rebooted club with the original so it's one long continuous thread and I reboot it every year with a new thread.

 

Example:

 

(1) Original Hulk #1 Club - 04/18/10

 

(2) Rebooted Hulk #1 Club Version 1.0 - 01/06/14

 

Because the first post has expired in #2 and is no longer editable, I'll have to reboot it with a new Club:

 

Hulk #1 Club [2015]

 

So, if we could merge #2 into and behind #1 so as long as I still link to #1, it's one long continuous thread. :wishluck:

 

That way every year, I'll reboot the newest club and put the year in the title and first post:

 

"HULK #1 CLUB [2015]" and the previous year was merged into the original. :banan
