Yes, it was a short lived sister imprint around 1952, mostly in the taller format like the Signet Books

Hello! Would this be the appropriate thread to share photos of paperback books from my collection? 

Also, is nudity in art/covers allowed on the forums? My collection gets a wee bit explicit.

The membership here is restricted to 18yo and up, so you should be OK, but Mike once told me that it needs to be in the spirit of art as opposed to porn, so some photo covers and some painted covers may get the boot. GOD BLESS ...

.... by the way, for those who knew about my recent stroke...

I got home from the Hospital (2 weeks) a few hours ago ... just went around the corner to the bathroom, with help, and I feel like I just swam the English Channel. 

My pal John was here. He's retired Navy and good as gold. His son manages a Domino's and he made us a tasty combo thin crust. I love to cook and hope to one day be back to that. Something very odd, my right side is very functional still but if I pick up a piece of ice or anything cold, it feels warm to the touch in my right hand ... weird. Left side is still numb and like dead weight ... almost. The advances in Physical Therapy are at play and helping.  GOD BLESS ...

My top 5 PB's added to my collection this year, or the year in review briefly.

It's a Free Country by Ben Williams. Originally published in 1945, Williams only wrote 3 more novels after this one

 

Robert Carse was noted for his books about the sea, as he served on freighters early in his life and was on a ship in a convoy that was attacked by German submarines later on.

 

Coxe wrote books in many genre's but excelled at crime fiction.

H. Bedford Jones was exceptionally prolific and had many contributions to Blue Book, Argosy, Adventure, Detective Fiction Weekly, Weird Tales and numerous other pulps. Incredibly he wrote nearly 200 novels and earned the moniker "King of the Pulps".

Hal Elson primarily wrote about Juvenile delinquency and was "credited" with inspiring Frederick Wertham, and this novel "Tomboy" was cited in the first chapter of "Seduction of the Innocent".

Super happy to hear you're home, Jimbo.  Hopefully you've got enough from the fundraising thread to keep things handled while you take the time to recover.

Strokes can vary a lot, just the fact that you can post here tells me you're doing moderately well considering.

Mine was cerebellum and affected my balance and coordination ... extreme vertigo, nausea, and weakness on my left side. My mind and speech was left alone. Typing takes an aeon. GOD BLESS ...

I've never thought I needed a scanner until now. I'll take some photos tomorrow of some of my tamer covers. My collecting focus is after 1968 when the obscenity laws loosened. 

Would things like Bill Ward's and Gene Bilbrew's fetish art be welcome here?

While not really my thing, I've seen enough to know that most of those covers are tamer than many modern risque comic covers imho. They just were wild for the times.
