A couple of movie tie-ins in my box from Steve.

OK, so I admit, I'm a lam killer. The funky lam was killin me, so I did away with it (3 dollar book missing the copyright page).  AND IT'S FRICKIN BEAUTIFUL.

I love this movie.  Dialed it up on the IMDB, and I'd given it a 9/10 from my last viewing.  Great cover art.  Original publication in 1927.

Not to clutter this fun thread with paperback indexing stuffs, but I thought I'd offer up images I gathered this weekend when going through St. John's Reader's-Choice Library.  I was hoping to find maybe a Matt Baker painting (lol, nope), but I did add a few books to my huntlist:

In going through the covers, I was able to add one more ID for Isabel Dawson in Grant's index which also led to a number of GCD identifications in the St. John Romances (Dawson, Olsen, Nappi) this weekend.  Starting here:

It is truly amazing how my short dive into the paperbacks has expanded interests and understandings in other areas of the magazine/comics/pulp world.  You can never understand the whole ecosystem of "downmarket" American publishing by focusing on just one of these areas to the exclusion of the others - you just can't. 

Was the Reader's-Choice Library St. John's only foray into paperbacks?

there were 40 or so in the Reader's Choice Library: have had Nightmare forever and just picked up the other two after checking the covers on the whole run. the Brock (Louis Trimble) is #38, the finding of which (first you have to know that a book exists) towards the end was a nice payoff for my efforts as even locating them in bookscans was tricky...especially nice reward as there was a copy available...

That Green Light for Death is a super cool cover by Wayne Blickenstaff.  He did that Woolrich and some of the more interesting ones in the line including this one I'll keep an eye out for.

Not crazy about the cover he did for Vera Caspary's Stranger than Truth, but I like her fiction, so I might keep an eye out for a deal on that one, too.

That Trimble is missing from his wiki bibliography if we have any wiki editors in here...
