OMG, Ron! When do you find time to work??

Ron has to be working a 25 hour day to be paying for all of these treasures!

Maybe he's the catburglar (he's not pretty enough to be the catwoman) of OA; finding the art IS his work! :)

The best hobby-related quote I heard last year was about Ron:

"Ron is the "Nikki Sixx" of the OA hobby - he wants to do all the drugs and :censored: all the girls." *

* That being a metaphor for he wants to buy up all the quality art! What did you think it meant? (tsk)

I might start calling him "The Wolf of CGC Boards"

I realize that these pages aren't on the same level as some of what I've seen others highlighting (Romita Sr, Neal Adams, Kirby, etc) and they're mostly panel pages and one commission, but at the end of the year, I was happy to have added these to my collection.

Dan Brereton Bettie Page Rocketeer commission

Working on a commission theme that combined my love of pin up and an homage to Dave Stevens and The Rocketeer, Dan Brereton captured it perfectly in his own unique style.

Emanuela Lupacchino X-Factor 219 pg 21

I generally stay away from only pencil pages, but in Ema's case I make an exception. One of my favorite current artists out there, she had a nice run on Marvel's X-Factor and I was pleased to add this one to my collection.

Andy Kubert/ Matt Ryan X-Men 37 pg 27

I remember getting my first Uncanny X-Men comic book and from that moment I was hooked. The Phalanx Covenant was one of their multi part cross over events that are all too commonplace these days, but at the time it was an engrossing tale. Very detailed art by Andy Kubert featuring Banshee and Blink.

Eduardo Barreto Supergirl Vol 2 21 pg 10

Underrated but slowly getting the attention and appreciation he deserved, Barreto does pen and ink on this classic page from the Supergirl series with Superman as a guest star. I continue to admire his work.

Marie Severin/Bruce Patterson Peter Parker Spectacular Spider Man 48 pg 18

Spider Man gunned down by Roderick Kingsley, the future Hobgoblin. With Belladonna in the bottom right panel. My favorite run of this book with stories written by Roger Stern. Possibly the highlight of my collecting year.

I hope everyone enjoys these pages as much as I do. I look forward to seeing what amazing art others picked up throughout 2013.

Question:

Is the OA from a web strip considered published or unpublished?

As an example, Yale Stewart's JL8 strip is available on Facebook and Tumblr. Does that make it published? He has 73K followers on FB reading the strip.

Though the strip is digital, he has real physical art for it:

#124 - Glass Half Full...................................................................#131 - Spin the Bottle:

Stewart,%20Yale%20-%20JL8%20124%20-%20Glass%20Half%20Full.jpg Stewart,%20Yale%20-%20JL8%20131%20-%20Spin%20the%20Bottle.jpg

Thoughts?
