What does it cost to ship a short box?

What's a ballpark cost to ship a short box full of comics USPS, within the US?

$12 or $20, I'm surprised it's that cheap! Anyway, that gives me a guideline at least.

Rates have gone up. Last long box I shipped Media Mail was $34

And postage rates are going up again Sunday night. The first class stamp goes from 46 cents to 49 cents.

Comics don't qualify for media mail so I would not use a comic box when shipping media mail. I believe the final rate depends on both weight and distance.

If you ship a comic box, put a lid on the bottom, as well as the top to Add stability
