Worst Super Bowl ever, and I bet they never have a non-dome/northern SB for another 40+ years. Defense always wins those bad boys, and they always will - man Seattle's D was fast and mean.

 

I really feel sorry for those people who made a big SB party, set up for weeks, etc. and then had to watch that turkey. Hell, the 80's blowouts were more exciting because you could bet whether the losing QB would make it out the game alive. lol

Still alive & kickin'! Fun party.......for me! There were some glum faces for sure but nobody took it out on me. I'm not - believe it or not - a huge gloater, especially when your team is being dismantled on the biggest stage in the world. I actually felt sort of bad after a while.

 

No brutal post-game celebratory hangover though. Couple beers yes but with all the good food there isn't much room left!

Truly a game to forget (for any non Seahawk fan).

These situations are emotionally conflicting :ohnoez: On one hand there is no way I want the team that eliminated my team to go on and win the big game. On the other hand I wouldn't want the AFC team to plow through the Superbowl, suggesting they would have beat us too. For example- How pizzed off do you think the Patriots are right now? I'm sure they feel they would have been competitive. At least my team made the NFC game a close one (and I know Seattle and their fans were nervous). I feel confident that SF would have dismantled Denver too.

 

Seattle wasn't doing anything spectacular early in the game, Denver simply folded. Once Seattle smelled the blood in the water, then they got nasty.

 

Denver NEVER showed up. They lost the game the moment they won the AFC Championship. I'm sure Denver would not have deferred to the 2nd half, so I don't think the coin toss mattered. Whoever won the toss, Denver probably would have went out with their Offense first, and the first play would have been a Safety.

 

So, what was the final score? I tuned out after the first play of the 2nd Half giggle.gif

Seattle didn't win by more than 45 points or score more than 55 points, did they? That's all 49er fans had left to cheer against.

 

I do feel bad for all the Bronco fans at Bronco parties. There was not one single thing they could have possibly lifted their spirits aside from not being shut out. At right about the time the game would have ended we heard a loud boom in the distance. I mentioned to my wife that the game must have ended and that the boom was either an M80 or a gun lol

 

I'm happy that you're happy, Mark :applause:

Now I can't wait for next season! We'll have a chance to beat the SB Champs twice :sumo:

Sure, but like in any sport (especially boxing or MMA) there are definite "bad matchups" and that's what Seattle represented to Denver. I wanted the Broncos to win, but I'm also not stupid and predicted a Seahawk blowout victory - open air statdium, Northern state in Jan-Feb, the top defense *always* wins, like 100% of the time.

 

Everything Denver did well on offense, Seattle countered even better on defense, and Denver's defense is a joke and Peyton has been carrying them all year.

 

Denver really had no chance, but NE (being an inferior team to Denver) would have competed better because their team was not checkmated at all positions like Denver was. NE's defense would have given Seattle's offense headaches and possibly created some turnovers. Plus, there's no better coach than Belichick. They couldn't beat Denver, but they could have beaten Seattle.

 

It's all about the matchup and how your best players relate to their best players.
