Totally. I have one that looks very similar but the chips missing from bindery pulls are a little larger. Mine is a CGC 8.0.

 

So I'm gonna go with an 8.0 on this one.

Stains on the BC, outside edge?

 

Looks to me, as it stands, a 7.5 - if those are stains, they will drop the grade lower.

Thanks for the advice so far. I don't have the book with me to confirm stains on the back cover, though if anything the scanner has a tendency to accentuate these things, making them look worse than they are. Could easily be a little touch of stain of some sort though. Thanks again.

Yeah, I know how scanners can magnify some defects - it's why I set my scans to 1200x1800 pixels. Any larger, and defects get magnified crazily, making the book appear sometimes one whole grade point lower.
