Pep Comics #1, Windy City copy. More than one book?

Was there more than one copy of this book? Met used to have it for sale as a VF- for $4400, then it was graded 9.0 and didn't meet the reserve on Heritage.

 

Now, Comiclink has the 9.0 book for sale here

 

and Met now has a VF- "Windy City copy".

 

What's the story here?

The Windy City copy offered on ComicLink is not the same book as the one advertised by Metro. Either there were two Windy City copies or one of them is misidentified. I note the the Metro Windy City copy has not been certified as such by CGC. Also, Heritage has never offered either of those books for sale.

So what's the deal, is there more than one copy of Pep #1, Windy City Pedigree? Anyone have the master list?

There was absolutely only one copy of Pep # 1 in the Windy City collection. The 9.0 certainly appears to be the book (the slight sun shadow at the bottom was very common on many WC copies).

 

Ah, how I remember holding those babies, lo those many years ago...
