There looks to be some sort of writing -- honestly I don't know what -- inside some of the letters of the logo...

at first look== that writing might just be someone doing a crossword puzzle with the book under it and it bleeding through or making and impression/letter creases?

 

just a guess- it looks like a grid like crossword form

5.0 IMHO! I agree with Mike, someone looks to have been doing a crossword puzzle and the ink transferred from the paper to the cover.

Although I never would have guessed that, I tend to agree with the crossword puzzler theory.

 

I really like that cover. I give it a 4.5

lots of indentations on the cover even in the black areas. I think 4.5 is a stretch.

I was going to go with a VG/FN (5.0). The letters are much more apparent on the scan than in real life. But it seems like 4.5 is may be more conservative.

 

Now to just find a buyer...
