I love that you give a description of the story.

 

I can just imagine Mort Weisinger telling his writers... "Ok, insufficiently_thoughtful_person. In this one Jimmy is super, is the lord of a castle and is on an asteroid. Write me this and make it not suck."

 

This is a very imaginative series, Raphe...the only problem is, they love giving Jimmy Super Powers and after a while, they repeated themselves a couple of times. It's great matching the monsters with the Adventure stories and as Danny pointed out, the Superman series.

#12, 1956. Jimmy is a clown (what a stretch;) Superman is a Robot and then Jimmy is Invisible;)

Great color, nice gloss, date stamp. The # 12 is circled on the first page and written on the first page. There is a stain on the border of the 3rd to last page. ¼ inch split through most of the pages at the top. Paper is not brittle at all, it’s just a tear there. Pager are in the white range. Grade is VG- (3.5)(because of the split) $52

#16, Jimmy Is Invulnerable, Gets to use a reincarnation machine, and becomes a super liar. 1956. VG/(4.0), very small Tape on spine appears to be unnecessary. Deduction for the tape. Gd/VG (3.0) $30 $25

 

#18, Superbaby meets Jimmy, Jimmy and Riddles, Jimmy and the Magic Flute. Nice color and gloss, some ripples right edge, slight moisture staining on a few pages. Pages are at least off-white and supple. Grade is VG- (3.5) $45

 

#19, Two Jimmys, Jimmy as Supes younger brother and as a human Geiger counter. 1957. Some light staining in the back, white pages, nice color, and a few diagonal creases. ½ inch split, lower left. Grade is VG (4.0) $50.00

 

 

 

 

 

#24 Gorilla cover, 1957. Jimmy’s magic turban, he’s a gorilla and Superman’s hall of trophies. ½ inch split lower left. Nice color and gloss, off/white pages, and a few ripples on the right of the word balloon, and on the bottom of the gorilla. Small chip on the bottom of the back cover. Grade is Gd/VG (3.0 )Bin $21

#33 Jimmy is a human flame thrower (special gas that turns fireflies cold) Jack Larson biography. Cover is split 3 inches at the bottom, tape has repaired the split .Cover is detached from the comic and was re- attached to the comic with tape. (not by me;) $5.00

 

#34 Jimmy has an amazing camera, an underground Journal …and of course, he’s Invulnerable. Cover is detached, pages are about white. Grade is good- (1.8), Bin $5.00

#44, Great wolf-man cover. Jimmy is pals with a leprechaun and ummm…he’s a girl. Two secret guest appearances in this issue! Great color and gloss, OW pages, 1” spine split 1st wrap is split a bit at the split. Book looks nicer, but I downgraded for the split, VG- (3.5) bin $12

#56, Featuring the Son of Jimmy, Jimmy has sweethearts and he’s a jinx. Stain upper right, nice pages, great color, nice gloss, very small split lower left. Grade is VG-(3.5) because of the stain. Bin is $4.00.
