I am wondering if that scraping is a defect in production. Mine has it too. Anyone elses?

mine has it as well. If it is printers defect,then CGC won't hold that against the grade too much, correct?

It's a printer roller drag - and (almost) everyone's has it (except FFB's 9.4)

 

Even my CGC 9.4 has a tiny, tiny, tiny bit of it. I've never seen a copy that didn't have it at all, but I don't think I've ever seen a CGC 9.6 or 9.8 copy.

congrats on the grade--but I'm still thinking that's a VF+ copy.

 

Granted, I've never had the book in my hands--I'm sure the presentation of the book made up for the visual defects I see in the scan...

Yep, I think all copies of this book has the printer roller mark to some degree, and yes, CGC doesn't downgrade for it:

 

 

And no, I don't own this copy.

Sorry, I was talking about the small ink smear near the Beast's index finger. This copy doesn't appear to have any roller mark in the "N".

No bad, that's exactly what I was referring to: the smear through the Beast's index finger (if the Beast in fact has an index "finger"
