Matching a cover and a coverless copy?

Hey Guys,

 

Another question for the collective wisdom: if you match a cover and a coverless copy how is this likely to be graded by CGC? I assume this isn't considered restoration...

If there is no other work done and it is unrestored it will get a green qualified label.

The term used is "Married" when parts from cadaver books are attached, replacing missing parts. The label would have "Married Cover" printed on the righthand side. (Married Centerfold, Married Wrap, etc.)

How would they determine a completely detached cover isn't the original one that came on the comic?

Staple holes on the cover might not line up with the staples on the interior. Wear patterns on the interior might not match wear on the cover, etc.
