My wife and I stayed in Seattle for a whole week, arriving on Tuesday before the show and leaving the following Monday. It was fantastic to just sleep till I felt like getting up. That's such a luxury for me as I'm usually up before 6:00 am.... 7 days a week. I guess I really needed the rest and didn't feel like I "motivated" for the convention at all. I just wanted to be anonymous and wander and was quite shocked by the Friday crowds. I couldn't get in the merch line cuz the guy kept saying the line was closed....too many people. That discouraged me.....but eventually (the next day) I got what I wanted. As for the show, I was put off by the crowds and hardly engaged with anyone. Perhaps I'm becoming a curmugeon. 50 IS behind and 60 is looming :(

Anyways..... I thought I'd share a few of the pics I did take. This is where we stayed. One block from the show :)

Here is the view from our room. That building with the $8.00 public parking sign is the north sales room! We were one block from the con !! Also, directly underneath that sign is the most awesome steakhouse in Seattle.....Ruths Chris where we splurged on $45 fillet mignons...... but ohhhhh were they worth it. You could cut them with your butter knife and the meat just melted in your mouth. 2 inches thick..... medium pink centers..... with a side of Au Gratin potatoes. :cloud9:

We knew the con was on when we saw cosplayers out on the streets like these folks.

Being there before the show actually started I was able to move around freely and thought ....y'know... these escalators are not gonna look like this in a couple days. And they didn't. I wish I would have taken some "crowded" shots of them.

Sheri and I rode the monorail out to the Space needle and walked around.... but decided that for $20 each, to ride to the top.... we could have a pretty good lunch at a local brewery.....and opted for food and beer at the Elysian Brewery on 13th in the Capitol Hill district. You know me... I'm a sucker for fresh craft brewery beers

On thursday around 1:00 pm I went on a walk down to Pikes Market and where I saw this guy playing and singing. He was playing with a lot of energy and heart and he struck me as special for some reason, so as I was passing, I made a u-turn went back a few steps and took these pictures. He kept playing and singing... but as I passed, he yelled out at me...."hey, how about a tip"!! His open guitar case was there with silver change and some singles thrown in. He had seen what I did.... but as I passed I told him I didn't have any cash at the moment.... and went on my way.

So I walked a few more blocks before I found what I was looking for and then took a sharp right up the street, then another right where I was apprehended by a begging soul who followed me for a good full block, starting off with "got any spare change... to got any money at all... to can you buy me somethng.... to can you use your credit card to buy me a pepsi........ before I manage to out-walk him and took another right down to the original street. I had gone around the block. So I come up on this guitar guy again .... and as I pass him... I reach in my pocket and take out a fiver.... and show him up close...... then toss it in his open guitar case. So he yells out to me...."Alright"...hey God bless you man....God bless you" and I go on my way.

Well, later that night Sheri and I go to the mexican restaurant on the top floor of the mall and ..... it's about 9:30 when we are done..... and we decide not to go to the movies.... but to go back to our room..... so when we exit the mall...... out on the street.... on the side walk... in front of the mall.... is this same guy. And he recognizes me.... and he smiles and yells out..... hey man.... God Bless you.... God Bless you !! as me and my wife wave and walk to our room.

I thought it was cool that he remembered me :)

Course you've seen the Popeye pics. Olive Oil was so cute....she was really into it. Also a christian group was there offering info to anyone who had spiritual questions.

Babes were everywhere and I just didn't see taking their pics as that important when 1000 other people were taking them. Here's a couple that just happened.

Here's a couple pics of my wife.... the most beautiful woman in puppetland

She loves to costume and really is a professional seamstress and costume designer. She made this outfit of Miss Yvonne from the Pee Wee Herman Show and wore it around on Saturday. Some of you might have seen her. In the top picture she had just done a photo shoot with the Mars Attacks guy.... and gave him a kiss on his martian cheek for the cameras.

Bottom pic is her going into the Tardis
