that might be a 2.0 on it's best day, with a generous grader...I've got some Golden Age Dell readers that remind me of that book and I list them as 1.5 - 1.8. Just too much wrong there. 4.5 is just whack.

See - that's what I'm sayin' - this CGC 2.5 blows that PGX 4.5 out of the water. I can't believe it sold for $8,900 - what are the odds the seller actually pays for the book, you think?

I can't imagine anyone shilling that book up to $8,900. Wouldn't he take anything over $6k and run?

Unfortunately, it might be a real sale as there is probably a large enough subset of collectors who:

 

1) Have the ability to purchase high four figure books

 

2) Don't know how to grade

 

and

 

3) Are unaware of PGX's reputation for grossly inflating the grades of Marvel keys they or their associates wish to sell.
