Best Way to Capture Those Sketches

I've been on the boards more often, and I'm seeing great scans/pictures of slabs and commissions.

 

How are you all doing it? Camera phones, DSLR, big scanner beds?

 

I want to improve my photos so any help would be great~

I don't have a scanner so I use my camera phone and forward the photos to photobucket so I can post them here to show off my stash.

Legal size scanners... Do a search in the comic general forum and the thread should pop up. It goes into great detail on which scanner and settings to use.

Or if you cant get your hands on one, usually the local library has one available. That or FedEx. Library is cheaper

If your job has a copier with a scanner, you could use that; I thought about this a while back, but I've only done this with one book so far.

 

I also use a program like Microsoft Photo Editor to adjust the brightness and contrast as necessary. This helps a lot to make the scan or pics look clearer and better.

f you're taking pictures with your phone of a sketch at a con before submitting it to CGC, hold the sketch at an angle to reduce the glare from the lights above.
