Just clone Hugh Jackman :insane:

But seriously,I knew this would happen sooner or later

It's going to be hard to see someone other than Hugh Jackman playing Wolverine.

That's where this thread was heading before our merry band of mirth spreaders came along. But it's all done with camaraderie in mind.

Jackman has become Fox's foundation pulling the X-franchise together. Who does have the acting strength to step in, and potentially surpass his accomplishments?

Tom Hardy has been the lead or a strong supporting actor in a number of movies. His 'Bronson' really proved how far he could take a film.

I know a lot of people don't agree with me on this, but I thought Hardy's take on 'BANE' was fantastic.

Young Danny DeVito was a natural wolverine.

he would have been great in the part

I see this posted from time to time. But for me, I just cannot see that ever working. Even when he was a young man. It feels more like a height fixation rather than a solid aggressive, muscular, animalistic portrayal of a critical X-franchise character. But even Danny DeVito is shorter than Wolverine (5').

Now as The Penguin, I feel Danny Devito was amazing in this role. He really made it work, even with a very odd -script and having to play off of Christopher Walken's add-in character. Warner just released some Batman DVD's with extra footage. Here is The Penguin spot from Batman Returns.

I always felt he was too tall to play the character. I can't find the info anywhere on his height anymore but he was shorter than the rest of the X-Men and I think that was part of his personae which never got translated onto film. Other than that, Hugh was a fine choice. If he and Robin Williams had a lovechild, that boy would grow up to be a proper Wolverine.

He would have to seriously hit the gym but Grandmaster B is short enough for the role.

And it looks like an aging David Faustino could grow some chops. hm
