Rai #1 (Matt Kindt)

Clayton Crain on art. Ugh. Even Matt Kindt can't make me buy this.

:preach:

Is this a joke? (shrug)

You've been here a whole week... I guess we're supposed to understand you by now, huh? (shrug)

I finally read #1.

Artwork was fantastic.

The story was enough to pull me into issue #2.

I'm just thinking that I'm missing a ton of Rai background. Can anyone give a very brief Rai-history synopsis?

Actually, you're not missing any Rai background.

The only Rai story that Valiant has produced in the new line is Rai #1.

Valiant has been using a lot of the "core concepts" from the original Valiant line (pre-crash, 1991-1992),

but everything is subject to change in this version of the Valiant universe.

Officially, Rai #1 is all that any of us know. (thumbs u

Was about to say basically the same thing.

Rai as of now, is a mystery as a whole.

#2 did extremely well in our area.

#1s were plentiful till #2 came out. Now every copy is gone of both.

Patrick

Rai #1 went to a third printing to keep them available.

You do know many publisher "pre-print" the second and third prints now?

I'm not saying Valiant does, but it shouldn't surprise anyone if they do. They are very crafty that way. ;)

The print run on VEIs second prints are so small, they probably do print them ahead of time. Based on input from Diamond of course. Diamond continues to get re-orders on a book after the order deadline, but before the book hits the stands. So publishers know if their over allotment is getting eaten into.
