Will CGC recognize PGX signed and slabbed book?

8 posts in this topic

Hi,

My be a dumb question, but if I buy a PGX slabbed book that has been signed and I send it in to CGC to regrade and re-slab what will happen with the signature? Will I get a Yellow label or will I get a blue label? Can stand PGX but not sure I want to re-slab to CGC if it will unauthenticate the signature.

Thanks

I believe it would end up as a Green/Qualified Label. In order for it to be a Signature Series status/Yellow Label - the signature needs to be witnessed by a CGC rep/witness.

:sorry:

If CGC does not witness the signature, they will NOT Yellow label it ever. It may get a blue label with 'writing on cover' and a grade reduction, or a green label if too much is on the cover.

If it's PGX, there's no guarantee it's authentic in the first place.

Yep. Specially if dude authenticating it owns the book.

Just leave it as is.

And by "Leave it as is" we mean you should leave it with whomever is selling it and not buy it.
