With those lower numbers, you have to consider that publishers will always round up to get the proper pricing from the printer.

 

example:Vamplets 2702.

 

bet Action Labs printed 4k plus

 

I suspect comics with below a 5,000 print run are printed on a digital press and not an offset press. With the digital press, the cost per copy isn't much different whether you print 1,000 or 4,000.
