PGM Amazing Spider-Man #72

The spine is nice. I picked this one because of the black cover.

 

It looks like the book was bought and then just stacked for decades unread.

 

I had some Adams Detectives in similar condition come back as 8.5's.

If the spine is that strong I'd call it a good 8.5 or so then. The appearance of the spine ticks and edge wear CGC uses to bring the grade down more than on lighter colored covers.

 

I've got a 9.4 #28 that outside of a case, most people would grade higher. Just the black cover is a penalty by CGC, and there are lots of books like that.

Um, I'm less enamoured of the overall 'dirtyness.' The murky whiteness of the back cover is an issue for me. Top edge has roughness. Tiny tear on the right edge. None of the corners are what I'd call sharp.

 

I'd put this more around 7.0, perhaps a 7.5.
