When to or not to...?

Hi everyone I'm new to the graded comics and am having fun with it.

 

So I hope this is the right board but when is it worth getting a book graded? Key issues only? Found a 9.8 in a dollar bin? Love the the cover but would grade low? For investment or resale?

 

I have a few books that I like and it seems like the anticipation would be worth it.

 

I'd post some examples but I'm at work and I haven't seen how to post pics yet.

Lots of helpful info can be found by reading past threads as well as checking out this GUIDE.

 

There are several different answers to your question, as each individual will have different reasons to submit for grading. Your question has been asked hundreds, if not thousands of times, and the best way is to learn is to read the past. Asking a question in an existing thread is also favored over starting new threads with (forgive me) old questions.

If you went to the comic conventions in 1970's, 1980's and early 1990's, you must be damned lucky. Now, you have to carry your good luck charm to find a tiny gem in a huge haystack nowadays.

Is a great tool - it shows you pricing on sold cgc slabs - it is well worth the money

 

Combine this with being able to estimate what the cgc grade will be - good combination
