Help! Questions about a silver age DC collection...what keys to look for?

Hey all...

I just bought a silver age DC collection.

Six long whites, filled with all sorts of stuff.

Titans, Wonder Woman, Flash, Detective, Batman, House of Mystery, Secrets, Justice League.....you name it.

All are pretty much fine/VF.

There are several books that are G/VG too.

 

At any rate, I was always mostly a Marvel guy.

I know my Marvel, not so much DC.

Because of the price the guy wanted, I figured....why not.

But I don't really know what I am looking at here.

 

Can any of you guys who are familiar with the DC stuff of that era tell me, what are some of the key books?

To answer your question in a nutshell, every silver age DC is a key in my opinion. All are pretty difficult to find in F/VF condition, so hold on to them. I second supas' suggestion.

What years do they cover?

Most of the years covered are 1960s.

12 cent issues, 15 cent issues, 20 cent issues to the early 1970s.

Adventure Comics, Supergirl, Superboy, Superman, Batman, Detective, some Flash, House of Secrets, House of Mystery, Ghosts, Witching Hour, a couple Showcase...just a couple. Justice League of America....

Most of these books look to be Fine to VF.

There are several that are VG and Fair due to some water damage.

 

On the Marvel side of things, I VF/VF+ runs of Werewolf by Night, Ghost Rider, Tomb of Dracula.
