Moving on, I think the whole vintage-photo collecting thing could be pretty interesting. Vintage monster-movie photos would be a logical cross-connection to the comics world, kinda-sorta. I know there is at least one person here who collects old movie paper and tends to drop a sizable amount of $$ on it.

 

Two questions, though:

 

1. Why is this under the CGC label? or are the labels we've seen just prototypes until the real ones come out?

 

2. How intimately involved in this endeavor is JP's The Mint? Why is he getting the first crack at all this? Has anybody seen him buying up huge lots of vintage photos?

I don't see anything wrong with this,but I'd like to know what expertise the guys at CGC have with photos.

I'd be curious where they advertised this new service? Can't see where I'l be using it.

If CGC were to switch the brand of TP they use there would be forum members saying "What is this BS?!?! " and ranting on and on about it. In fact, when Halperin made a comment about his investment in CGC not being real profitable, someone exclaimed "What are they gonna do next to make money!?!? "

CGC needs to test run a product,who else would they team with but one of their bigger submitters?

For those who weren't around in the beginning,CGC went to a retailer summit and offered FREE slabbings to all present,just to get the ball rolling.

It clearly states in JPs ad that these are prototypes so obviously they are still in the R+D stage of this project. I understand how some of the members here feel this is somehow yet another example of an unfair playing field.Perhaps those members should find their own sand-box to play in.

I ,too, am shocked that CGC is out to try to make money,and would consider expanding their product line without consulting with their loyal fans and groupies.I suggest you buy all of the product you can,and burn it. That should teach them a lesson,eh?
