how much should I expect to pay for a raw 9.8 asm 194?

PS. Foolish people sell raw books at heavily discounted prices.

really? you can grade that well? did you have to learn from the grading guide or experience?

The grading guide didn't exist when I first started collecting...and I contributed to the 2nd edition.

 

Here's what I did: I started with coins. Grading small metal discs under a loupe is quite a bit harder than grading a comic book. Once you learn how to grade these small coins, grading a nice, big comic book is a walk in the park.

 

You have to train your eyes to not skip over flaws, no matter how minute.

 

Anyone with a decent pair of eyes can learn how to grade...it just takes lots and lots and lots and lots of practice.
