BIG CAF update: AQUAMAN #2 (1994) cover - Arthur loses his hand !

2 posts in this topic

Hi all,

A HUGE CAF update for me:

I'd never imagined that I'd become the caretaker of this important piece

of DC COMICS history;

The cover for AQUAMAN #2 (1994), illustrated by Martin Egeland & Brad Vancata:

This was the big turning point for Aquaman.

During the early 90's,almost all of DC's 'big players' had suffered (?) huge,

drastic changes: Superman died, Batman got his back broken and was

replaced, Wonder Woman lost a contest and got replaced, Green Lantern

had gone mad and was replaced and similar things happened to Green Arrow

and the Flash...

Some would say that Aquaman had it most extreme as the change he'd

undergone has lasted for a decade and was even made canon in the Bruce

Timm animated series.

So here it is, that shocking moment in which Aquaman had lost his hand to

some nasty Piranhas !

Big thanks to Ray Deforest and Dave Kopecki for making it such an easy and

smooth transaction. You can't find better guys on CAF...

I apologize for the cropped image, I'll try to provide a full shot once

I have the art in hand. I guess the scan isn't as cropped as much as some

other things in that image, eh ;) ?

As always, comments are welcome and appreciated !

Thanks,

Gal
