What are the most valuable modern age comics?

New Mutants 98 fit in this group? I see that going for insane money on ebay these days.

 

ASM 301 and NM 98 are both copper age.

 

As for why The Wolverine, the UXM and a couple of the ASM variants go for so much, who knows. They all have really cool covers, by some great working artists. They all also have small initial print runs. Why did those catch on, and not others with similar attributes is anybody's guess. (shrug)

Superior Spiderman 20 Campbell Variant (This one just keeps climbing and climbing, cursing myself for not buying one last year)

Wolverine Origins 10 (3rd claw variant & first Daken)

There was also a spawn Variant 185 (I think, please correct me if Im wrong, that's really rare and valuable)

Wolverine 3rd claw definitely. I would say SSM 20 is still a little too new and unproven for the long term to rank just yet. But it looks like a contender. The spidey 546 book market is definitely pricey though.

 

And speaking of spawn the B&W Variant of #1 deserves a spot in the tier 2 group as well.

The UXM 510 sketch and the Wolverine #1 deadpool mashup are probably the rarest J Scott Campbell marvel covers. There are some really die hard JSC collectors out. Couple that with rarity= crazy prices

 

People can correct me if I'm wrong, but the only way retailers were to get the wolverine dead pool mashup and seige 3 was that they had to submit 50 specific covers back to marvel to get it. Someone told me that the uxm 510 sketch was rumored to be 300 or less? I've even heard there are only 100. Census data supports it considering this cover came out in 2009. There are only 13 graded with 9 being 9.8. The wolverine deadpool mashup has 32 9.8s.

With Harley being cast this is going to go to what you we are considering Tier 1 (AKA: $1000 sales) quickly. There are 4 sales around $1K in the past week on CGC 9.8's. That's also super impressive for a normal book that could have been purchased off the rack and not some rare 1 / 1000 variant.

 

Didn't realize some of these variants got such killer $! Insane.

a lot of thosee variants and the comics highlighted on "recalledcomics", etc have come down from their all time highs. With the movie/tv speculation, a lot of that money is going elsewhere currently.

Yeah, some of these books have not lost any steam. The wolverine /deadpool cover just had another 3k sale yesterday.

 

The batman RRP is still fetching for over 1k easily.
