Water Stain

I have a book with a water stain( Very Light) on the front cover. About an inch down and 3-4 inches long along the top of the book. What is the best possible grade I could expect with the stain?

Did you figure out how to scan yet? If so, try to get the image size around 300-400k. That will make the scan big enough but not too big. I have a tendancy to get scans around 500k and it takes up a lot of room.

How do you get the pic to display in the text window?

 

1. After you upload your pic view your post and click on the "Attachment".

2. Copy the address of the pic and hit the back button on your browser to get back to your post.

3. Choose "edit" and click in the text area, then under "Instant UBB Code" click on "Image" and paste the address then click OK.

4. Scroll towards the bottom and uncheck "Mark as Edited?" and "I want to preview my modifications and add or edit an attachment."

5. Click "Change this post"

Thanks I figured it out. What do you think my grade would be? The stain is very light towards the top middle of the book!

Not sure how CGC is on water stains but the Overstreet Grading Guide allows no water stains on books higher than 6.5 I believe. It also would depend on what the staples look like. Do the staples show any signs of rust?

No, It just affects the top of the book. The staples are clean. It looks like someone spilled something and it just ran up against the book. I don't believe the book was stored in a damp area. It doesn't smell musty.
