x-men #1 - is it a cgc 1.8 blue

Really cool X-Men #1 issue. I am considering selling it. Will probably send it to CGC, but may post it for sale on boards before I do so.

 

Any thoughts on what it will grade at. It presents fairly well, but it has two tears (one is 3-4" and one is 1-2") on the cover. Staples are firmly in place. Book is complete. No cutouts. No staining. Original staples. Some marvel chipping.

 

As for restoration, I don't see any. However, this is a weak area for me, so let me know if you see any.

 

Finally, does cgc note the tear in the notes on the label or will buyers be mostly unaware? Seems like they should.

Low grade X-Men #1's are among the most affordable major SA keys. Maybe they are fairly common, or maybe because of the canonical virtues of GSX 1 and 94. Either way, that's a $600 copy. 2.0.

Out of curiosity, why do you say $600 if it is a 2.0? 90 day GPA avg is $1305 and 12 month avg is $1245. What am I missing?

Better pics. . The large FC tear makes it a 1.8 for me. Spine looks decent though.

Could go any with a 1.8 ( think it's a bit better than a 1.5 but can't see it getting a 2.0 or higher)

Yikes! With that tear I'm thinking more around 1.8 now. I still think you might have a chance for 2.0 but 1.8 is more realistic.

Because that's the most I would personally pay for it. It's a gust of wind away from a 1.0.

Yes...but a cgc case would keep it safe and it does present pretty well. I do appreciate your input by the way.
