1964 Time Capsule

In 1964 a friend of mine came home from summer camp to discover that his mother had thrown away the majority of the comic books he'd been collecting over the past couple of years. He decided to place the remainder of his collection in a steel box to protect them from another one of his mother's cleaning jags. My friend gave me the steel box last week, asking me to sell the contents for him. I immediately bagged and backed the Marvels and DCs, but other than that, these books have been untouched for almost 50 years. It's a nice cross-section of titles that were available between 1962 and late 1964, and most, with the exception of the Classics Illustrateds, are in the VF range.

I mean if that book grades at a 8.0 to 9.2 ( depending on small defects) you're talking $10k to $50k. Good luck with it.

don't really care for HRN. I bought the entire collection of 160 books from board member Furby for my daughter to enjoy. If I can find copies in better condition than the ones I bought, so be it.

The Classic Illustrateds are mostly in the Fine range with some VF and a couple VG. The are mostly HRN 167, one 165, a few 156s and the oldest is Wild Bill Hickock 141
