PGM Strange Tales 110 - help!

Hey guys

 

Hate to take up the fourm with another PGM

but im currently in negotiations with a local collector in regards to purchasing this book .... im having a hard time grading it cause of the rusted staples and the mark in the botton right

 

Im guessing 2.0 but the staples and that mark are throwing me off

 

no tears, off white pages and complete

 

I have until Wednesday to buy the book

1.5-1.8 hard to differentiate between these grades.Personally I would avoid a book with rusted staples.

Structurally this is a very sound book. It's hard to find a low grade book with a spine and corners that nice without pieces missing or tears. Some features of the book are indicative of a 3.5. Some features 1.8/2.0. The truth lies somewhere in the middle. I'm thinking 2.5 is your grade, but try to buy it a little cheaper just to be safe.

It presents well, which is important, but that back cover and the staples.... I can't go more than 1.8 and I think there is chance it'll grade 1.5.

 

I don't see any chance at a 2.0

I really wanna pick up this book before a teaser trailer comes in the next year or so. I have a feeling marvel is gonna hit it out of the park with this one.

I would buy it for that, yes, but I am higher on the book than anyone else. Maybe try and get one or two more opinions before you make your move.

I'm at around 1.8/2.0. And $380 is a pretty good deal for any low grade ST110 (that isn't restored or missing pages).

Yeah for $450 buy it whatever the condition is slabbed you likely will get $600

Thanks for the help guys ....I was able to talk him down to $400 canadian so Im gonna pick it up this weekend

1.8 At $400 Canadian you just can't go wrong. I know a dealer who would pay you more than $400 He just sold a decent 2.0 for much more than $400 Canadian.

i would look into replacing the staples to stop the rust migration, I don't think it matters in that grade.

If I do that wont it come back as conserved ?
