#1 Spooky CGC Registry Set in Pedigree Comics’ January Harvey Comics Auction!

Our upcoming Grand Auction will feature what is considered to be the world’s #1 CGC graded collection of Harvey Comics. The auction is Scheduled to begin on the night of Monday, January 26th and last for ten (10) days until the night of Thursday, February 5th as a separate event on the Pedigree Comics website (www.PedigreeComics.com).

 

The first half of lots will end on the night of Wednesday, February 4th and the remaining half will end on the 5th. There is no Buyers Premium on any of the lots in the auction and every item will have no reserve. Every book is CGC graded and there is no minimum bid for this special Harvey Comics Auction. Each week prior to the auction, Pedigree’s CEO and President, Doug Schmell, who obtained this massive collection of over 800 CGC graded books on consignment, will spotlight an important run from the collection. This week’s focus is on Spooky. This is perhaps the consignor’s best and most impressive run of all the Harvey titles he collected, with an amazing 107 out of the initial 112 issues (he did not collect issues above #112). It is the world’s #1 CGC Registry Set and that is with only 66% of the issues included (Spooky went up to #161). EVERY book (save for a couple) is a Harvey Publications File Copy and most of the issues are the single highest or highest certified copy.

 

This Spooky run was a considerable labor of love on the part of the collector, and he considers Spooky (along with Hot Stuff) his favorite Harvey title. The overall depth and consistent quality of these file copies is simply amazing, and most of these books are just impossible to find in regular collections. They appear to be brand new and obviously never opened or read with particularly impressive colors and gloss.
