I bought this, but I just parsed the 'bindery tear' comment - I thought a bindery tear would exclude a book from NM+? I'm more inclined to trust Dale's experience on that than my own, though I am curious.

Plenty of books have bindery tears and still rate 9.8. For example, every single Saga #1 9.8 that exists.

I guess I knew that. I guess I'll have to see the bindery tear in question when the book arrives to determine what category it falls in to.

why is the Teen Titans 44 NM? looks better unless my eyes need help

 

I thought about calling it a 9.4/9.6, but like to be conservative. It has a small stress at top staple, 1 tiny stress mid spine, and another just to the left of the white box at the bottom. I would say it has a 25% shot at 9.6.

Many of the ASM #361s have this exact bindery tear. I have one in inventory which is a slabbed 9.6 that is very similar to this one.
