Silk appreciation thread - ongoing series

I like Silk for long term and near term, got a lot of potential.

midtown is limiting 1 per customer for silk 1 ....

Silk is slipping, the Gwen thread is blowing this one away.

 

Take about 5 posters out of the Gwen thread the numbers go way down. Just saying

Take about 5 variants away from Gwen and you still have 30 ...

 

We were told that variants are what hurt Uber more than anything, because the story is SOLID on that book. Yet, somehow with Gwen there is no mention of all the variants hurting it. hmmmm

There are a couple turds, I will give you that...

 

I hope both Silk and Gwen succeed, honestly.

Nothing wrong with some new blood coming in and mixing it up.

 

I think Marvel needs some of that.

Midtown has a "Limit 1 per customer" tag on both regular Silk covers and the Lee cover has been sold out for a while. Maybe demand is bigger for this than expected but I would have thought Midtown would be drowning in these.

Lcs 1 had 5 mangled copies of silk 1 and I was the first in the store

 

Lcs 2 had 10 copies and no variants

I got my copy this morning and my LCS had the Lee variant for only $8, whoo! My store tends to price variant's very cheaply and I usually am the first in the store every Wednesday.

I picked mine up and am going to read it during my lunch break at my part time job today. It sucks working both of my jobs on Wednesdays. But as I was paging through it, imo the art s*&ked!

It was a fairly average modern ago comic art and storywise. Basically focused on her trouble adjusting to superherodom, her awkwardness with Peter, and her desire to locate her family. I wouldn't say it's bad, it's very much the beginning of a story and that's what an issue 1 should be.

I wouldn't say the art sucked I would say that it was drawn in a lighter more cartoony style though not as bad as squirrel girl
