I agree about the weathering, it would be far more tempting without the fake scratches in them. I still received one as a birthday present, Cap 100. Well chosen, but I've yet to find a place to hang it up.

Some of them don't have the weathering.

 

I have Superman #16 & 233, Detective #387, Fantastic Four #45, Action #23 and JLA #21...none of them have weathering. X-Men #103, Cap #100 and Iron Man #25 do have it, though.

Yea the distressed look has kept me from buying them. I purchased a few poster sized covers from Art.com
